ChatGPT Search vs. GPTBot: What's the difference?
OAI-SearchBot
Used by ChatGPT Search to index publicly accessible web pages for real-time retrieval. Blocking this bot prevents ChatGPT from retrieving live content about your business. This is the most important crawler to allow.
GPTBot
Used by OpenAI to collect training data for their language models. Blocking GPTBot does not prevent ChatGPT Search from discovering your site. Many businesses legitimately restrict it for copyright reasons.

About the Growth Choice AI Visibility Audit Tool
The Growth Choice AI Visibility Audit is a free technical analysis tool that checks whether your website is properly configured for discovery by AI-powered search systems including ChatGPT Search (via OAI-SearchBot), Perplexity (via PerplexityBot), and Google AI Overviews (via Googlebot). The audit checks five technical categories: AI crawler accessibility via robots.txt, technical SEO signals, structured data quality, AI discovery resources including llms.txt and XML sitemap, and content accessibility.
